For this in-class drawing I was really trying to focus on varying line-width (and pressure). I always get a lot of flak for this in critique, so I thought I'd try and push it to the extreme, even if it looked a little forced. We were also supposed to be guiding the viewer's eye to just ONE point in the composition. Can you find what mine was?
The homework for this assignment was pretty bizarre. We took a sheet of tracing paper, put it OVER our drawing and created a diagram of sorts, that defends our choice of focus point. We were not given any instructions on HOW to make the overlay, only that it should also be drawn well. I made different sized dots (depending on the importance of the intersection) and then different weight arrows showing which direction the line guided the viewer's eye. ?!
