These were created by smearing printmaking ink on a small 5" x 7" sheet of aluminum flashing. You could roll it on, or apply it with a brush, or wipe it away with a piece of cardboard. Then we ran these through the press with a sheet of paper above them. They're called Monoprints because there is only ever one print of it. As soon as it's been through the press the ink is gone, but with a "ghost" so you can see what was previously on the plate, so you can build another image, using the previous information. To my brain, this means sequence, which means COMICS, which is what most of my printmaking work is going to be.

My unofficial theme for this semester seems to be TREES. :)
