Illustration III #1
For our first Illustration III assignment the teacher made us copies of the "100 most influential people" of Time Magazine and we were allowed to pick one person to do a "3/4 2-page spread" (a page and a half) illustration for.
I chose trumpeting legend Wynton Marsalis, who has been one of my heroes for years (I played trumpet for about 15 years). The article mostly focused on the fundraising he has done for hurricane relief in his home town of New Orleans, so I was trying to focus on an image of him playing the blues in "The Big Easy."
