I had to miss a class of Editorial Illustration to attend the Small Press Expo. I came back to this assignment: a full page illustration for the Sunday Styles section of the New York Times.
I chose an article called "Planet Google Wants You" which was about how Google has become such a big part of people's lives and how it's kind of cool and kind of creepy.
Originally I was going to do this guy eating breakfast in his house with "Google" written on everything, in a mostly white drawing style (to replicate the simplicity of Google's design sense) but then my teacher urged me to push the minimalist style even FURTHER!
Well, I never thought I'd get to draw some of my stick figures for an Illustration, but this was my chance! It was nice to have a relatively simple illustration since I was going crazy playing catch up that week.
