Children's Book Illustration #1
As a "warm up" assignment, we are doing a series of two illustrations for a non-fiction children's book about ancient Egypt. Of the available chapters, I chose the one on "Mummy Makers."
A big part of this assignment was the research. In fact, I spent so much time tracking down books and looking up information, I didn't have enough time to ink in my sketches! Since I will be working digitally in this class, I was able to scan them just the same and build up color sketches using photoshop.
All of the items, garb and settings you see are accurate to the time period (as much as possible) from my reference.
This class moves pretty quickly! Both of these illustrations are due NEXT WEEK, so I've got my work cut out for me...
