Advertising Illustration II #5
My (VERY DEMANDING) instructor began his critique of this piece by saying, "I never use the word 'love,' but I LOVE this piece!!!" (???!) He had NO CORRECTIONS for the piece, which is absolutely unheard of in his class (usually we have to repaint and retweak things 3 or 4 or 5 times) So... I guess I did okay on this one! It was a little embarrassing (everyone in class probably hates me) but it felt good to be commended after staying up all night painting it.
Also, I tried something new this time, doing a sort of "color rough" right on the board, just roughly changing colors until the whole piece felt really strong, THEN I repainted the entire thing, with thicker, tighter paint.
Anyways, I'm sure I'll screw up the next one!
