Here we have what are quite possibly the WORST thumbnails I have ever done. Our last assignment is to do a portrait of an important (dead) person from history. I had pulled an all-nighter finishing up my previous assignment so I did not have much time to get ready for this project.

I had one hour before I had to be in class. I printed out some quick reference photos, then hopped on the train to school. I had two done by the time I got there (Johhny Appleseed and Davy Crockett), then I had ten minutes to do the last two before class (Groucho Marx and Buster Keaton). He chose Johnny Appleseed, who I think is a really interesting historical figure.

The assignment is simple enough that I don't feel TOO bad about doing crappy sketches. I'm actually really excited about painting the final one, which is a nice change of pace!
