ARRRRRRRRRT!

Okay, first of all, everyone should go check out the latest issue of CreativeSkin.net which features the awesome Comics stylings of my good friend (and a-l.com webdesigner!) Nate Beaty. You'll get to see an awesome sneak peak at the next (and LAST?) issue of Brainfag, as well as some other awesome Comics and drawings and paintings and ART!
Oh...and for those of you in the New York area... CHECK OUT THIS TOTALLY INSANE COMIC ART SHOW THAT IS MIRACULOUSLY COMING TO MMMMMYYYYY SCHOOL !!!!???!!!! It's a show of ROBERT CRUMB, CHRIS WARE, ART SPIEGELMAN, DAN CLOWES, CHARLES BURNS, SETH, JAIME HERNANDEZ, GARY PANTER and IVAN BRUNETTI. (???????!!!!!!!)
I seriously could NOT believe that this show was coming to Pratt--which doesn't even HAVE a Comics program--let alone to the VERY BUILDING that I spend all day in every day. I am seriously going to go in there every day to be inspired before (and inbetween) classes. I'm TOTALLY going to the opening reception Thursday night from 6-8pm if anyone wants to meet me there, as well as all of the "extra" events associated with the exhibit! It'll be in the gallery until February 25th. WOOOOO!

Alec-
Curious, do u plan on checking out the PIXAR exhibit at the MOMA?
I hadn't heard about it, but I just looked it up and it sounds TOTALLY RAD! Plus I get in to MoMA for FREE as a Pratt student. So I'm THERE! (this whole Pratt thing is really paying off this month! ;)
great
Let me know what you think!
I wish I could make it up there.
Hmm, too bad about the show time; I have a class then, otherwise I'd stop by and say hello. Oh well.
By the way, a WOO HOO to you over basewood two being all done. That sentence had more unintentional rhyming than I'd have liked.
AGGH! Since the Pratt Website is TOTALLY DYSFUNCTIONAL I have reposted the information for the Comics Art Show over here and fixed the link in the post. Sorry about that!
An unbelievable show!! So much beautiful comics work in one place. It was very inspiring. Nice to finally meet you face to face Alec! -cheers
I couldn't agree more Cam--the show was TOTALLY MINDBLOWING. It's amazing how CLEAN most of the art was. Crumb, Clowes and Burns use almost NO white-out whatsoever. And the Spiegelman roughs were NUTS (5 or 6 different colored markers on tracing paper??!) There were some people taking pictures tonight, so maybe I'll sneak my camera in later on and try and take some pictures to upload. I feel so lucky that I'll get to see them again and again...
alec, i thought of you......

Man...that is INSANE. I had seen the Don Rosa one before (most recently in the Collected Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, but that one takes it to the EXTREME!
