For this excercise we were only allowed to make very small marks or "glyphs" on the page and no two marks could be consecutive. So for example you would make a mark on the figure's shoulder, then on the border of the page, then on her foot, then on her head, then on a desk in the background, then on her arm, etc. etc. It was EXTREMELY tedious, but trained you to keep your eye moving all around the form instead of focusing on just one area.
