Short Run Comix Festival - The Center for Cartoon Studies Info Sessions in Portland, Oregon and Los Angeles, California

This fall I'm hitting the road to promote The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) as part of my role as the Director of Academic Outreach. If you or anyone you know is interested in learning more about CCS, please swing by one of the following events, which are all free and open to the public!

  • November 7 - Seattle, WA: All day Saturday, I'll be tabling at the Short Run Comix Festival with CCS co-founder James Sturm, who will be debuting the latest comic book from the CCS Applied Cartooning Lab. Please note, I will not have any of my own comics at the table - I'll just be there to chat with folks about CCS.
  • November 13 - Portland, OR: The following Friday I will be hosting a CCS Info Session from 4-6pm at the Independent Publishing Resource Center. I will give a short talk about CCS and its facilities, curriculum, faculty and alums, and then a longer talk about How To Make A Graphic Novel. You can RSVP for this event, or just swing on by! Please note that masks are required at the IPRC. A mask will be provided if you show up without one.
  • December 5 - Los Angeles, CA: A few weeks later I will be hosting a similar CCS Info Session from 3-5pm at the Heavy Manners Library in L.A.. This will follow the same format as the Portland event. You can also RSVP for this event, or just swing on by!

During these trips I will also be buzzing around visiting various colleges to speak with comics students, but those events are not open to the public. I'll also be doing my best to see assorted friends and family while I'm rolling through these towns. Maybe I'll see you out there on the west coast!
