King-Cat #67!!!

Tue 12/12/2006

I finally got my copy of King-Cat Comics and Stories #67 today! It turns out John sent it to my old address, so Kelly was nice enough to swing by Pratt this morning and hand deliver it to me. I had only slept an hour and a half the night before, finishing off my huge Graphic Design project, so I was tired and cranky, but getting that zine totally washed away all my tiredness!

I read it coming home on the subway and I was so engrossed I totally missed my stop. Then I was reading it walking back to my building and I totally stepped in dog crap because I wasn't paying attention to where I was going! It was pretty funny.

Anyways, as I mentioned before, John is my new self-publishing hero and this is the first issue I received as a subscriber and it feels really great to be a part of the King-Cat self-publishing legacy! I really can't recommend his comics enough.

The other good news is that I'm definitely through the worst of my school work for this semester. I have a few more illustrations to finish up and then I'll be in the clear! Three more days to go! WOO!

I bought 4 or 5 copies of King Cat from Rocketship in Brooklyn before I left NY. They were terrific! I just finished reading that Comics Journal interview with him. So I'm following your lead and ordering myself a subscription too. Too right. Gotta support the quality self-publishers. The Drawn and Quarterly blog posted a cool King Cat excerpt today from their next collection of Porcellino's work.
