Rad People: GCB, Rachel

Sun 8/31/2008

Just before I left for Seattle, my computer TOTALLY DIED. I was standing there coloring Walker Bean, listening to Indie Spinner Rack, when my computer crashed. Now, it has been known to crash every once and a while (like most computers) but this time I couldn't get it to start back up. (GULP!)

Luckily, at the start of this year, I bought an external hard drive and I have been doing regular back-ups. So I at least had all of my data, but man... I really DID NOT want to have to buy a new computer...

Luckily, Gabe was able to help me out, with a magical CD (or DVD?) that fixed everything. It arrived in the mail the day after I got back to Vermont and it was SUCH a relief to get my machine working again (Thanks Gabe!!!) Believe you me, it's pretty great having an ex-mac genius for a best friend!

In other news, Rachel was up here visiting for a few days, which was really nice. We took the free bus into Hanover, New Hampshire to wander around the Darthmouth campus. We explored their giant, beautiful library, checked out some of the shops downtown and then wandered down to the river, where we rented a canoe (Rachel's first time in a canoe!) We also went to a Barbeque at Bryan Stone's house, which was well attended by all sorts of CCS folks - alumni, current students, and NEW students. It was a lot of fun.

Also, check out this awesome pillowcase Rachel made for me, to help me remember to draw comics every day. :)

Well, it's been a nice little summer break this past week or so. I've got a lot I need to do in the next couple of days and then CCS really kicks into high gear starting this Friday. But more on that later! Soon!

Footnote: "Some of the shops" is Longstreth for the bank and the post office. Tres chic!
