Another March In the Can

Tue 3/31/2009

Every March, I email my good friend Greg on a daily basis, to give him an update on my various projects. Greg then emails me back about HIS projects, and as the month progresses, we encourage and support each other, and try to egg one another on to do more work. We've been doing this every year since 2006 and it has become a tradition that I really enjoy.

This year, I also exchanged weekly emails with Andy Jewett in Indiana, and ever since Angoulême, Jonathan has been sending out similar weekly emails to some of my new friends from L'employé du Moi. It really is a good way to be held accountable for your progress, and to get some more work done.

This year Greg finished up the LAST EVER issue of his Clutch minicomic and put the finishing touches on Papercutter #9, which will be debuting at the Stumptown Comics Fest. I penciled eight pages of Basewood, which is REALLY GOOD for old slow-poke me!

In other news, I am sick, which is not cool, because I have a lot of stuff I need to be working on. I kind of can't believe how much I've slept over the past two days. Oh well, I need to rest up! I'm going on a CCS field trip on Thursday, to the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and MIRAGE STUDIOS (!!?!) Then on Friday, at 6pm I am going to be reading my "Frames" comic at the Hey Four-Eyes #3 release party at CCS. Robyn has been working super hard putting together this latest issue, which, if it is anything like the first two, will be a zine to remember! I did a glasses-themed interview with Harry and the Potters for this issue, which will be printed along with some of my HATP fan art. So if you can find a copy, pick one up!

Okay, well, I think I better crawl back into bed. Here's hoping I'm back to 100% health by Thursday!
