Syncopated! MoCCA!

Mon 6/1/2009

As I suspect most of you know, the MoCCA Arts Fest is this weekend in New York City. I will be tabling with my good friend Greg Means, who will be debuting issue TEN of his ignatz award winning comics anthology Papercutter.

I won't have a new minicomic (unless you count Phase 7 #014), but I WILL have a new 12-page comic in Syncopated, an anthology of non-fiction comics! My contribution is all about Dr. August Dvorak. It's basically all of the cool stories and extra information about Dr. D (and his invention) that I couldn't fit into The Dvorak Zine. There are also some top-notch comics by my friends Sarah Glidden, Nate Powell, Jim Campbell, Nick Bertozzi, Alex Holden, Brendan Burford and a bunch of other great cartoonists!

To celebrate the release of this book, we are having a party at Rocketship in Brooklyn on Friday, June 5th at 8pm. There will be FREE BEER and a bunch of the cartoonists will be there in the flesh, to sign copies of the book which will be on sale. If you are going to be in town for MoCCA please swing by! It will be a great way to kick off the weekend.

For those of you who can't make it to MoCCA, you should be able to find Syncopated at your local book store (or they can order it for you!) It's also available from Amazon.com (natch)

Between now and leaving for MoCCA I'm just going to be holed up in my studio logging as many hours as I can in front of the drawing board. Basewood will not defeat me!!!

I hope Mocca won't be as hot as last year, and that I get to say hello to you Saturday.

Will you do another Indie Island shirt this year?

Just want to budget for it if so.

It was fun to meet you at Mocca.

Bruce - I think this year's shirt will be drawn by the extremely talented Joe Lambert, so it'll definitely be worth it, to set aside some T-shirt money.

Nice to meet you too!
