Twice Published!

Sun 2/7/2010

There was a giant pile of mail waiting for me, when I returned from winter break. I had a lot of really cool holiday cards from my many artistic friends, a few nice letters, (a bunch of junk mail) and TWO PADDED ENVELOPES. Each contained contributor copies of some new books that I am in!

The first was It All Changed In An Instant which is the third six-word memoir book put out by Smith Magazine. As I mentioned last year, when the second book came out, Rachel does a TON of work on these and they are really great collections!

Smith Magazine has always promoted all sorts of comics projects and this latest book has six-word memoirs by me, Alison Bechdel, art spiegelman, Aaron Renier, Nate Beaty, David Heatley and other cartoonists as well. Many of them (including mine) are accompanied by illustrations. You'll have to check out the book to see how we summed up our lives in only six words!

The SECOND book was the fourth volume of Myspace Dark Horse Presents. This volume collects my R.J. Jr. story that I did last May for Dark Horse. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out in print form! The book is also chock-full with other great comics, including a killer two-pager by my homie Joe Lambert and a bunch of other comics superstars like Mike Mignola, Farel Dalrymple, Jim Rugg, Gilbert Hernandez, Kate Beaton, Matt Kindt and... uh, Joss Whedon. Anyway, check it out!

Hmmm... I want to put up a master list of all the books I've been in, and also all the stuff I've self-published. Maybe one of these days... I've been thinking lately about a few different ways to rework this site. I'm getting pretty sick of updating the front page (I think 5 years is enough of day-by-day updates). And since I have my illustration site up and running, the illustration section of THIS site is sort of redundant and outdated. Anyway, Nate is coming to town in a few weeks, so we'll have a pow-wow and hopefully he can help me get this site into ship shape!

I've still some more cool stuff to blog about, but I'm doing my taxes tonight (UGGGGGGH) and Maris and Joe are coming into town on Wednesday, and then I'm going to be out of town this weekend, so it might have to wait until next week!

Do you have an author page on Amazon yet? They're easy to set up, and a great way to market all of your in-print books. (Heck, even your out-of-print books.)

(My link here is to my own Amazon page. Check it out.)

Thanks for the tip John, that's a great idea!
