Summer 2014

Mon 6/9/2014

Well, 2014 is about halfway done and so far this year I've been to seven comic conventions in three different countries, promoting Basewood. Mercifully, I have almost two whole months at home before I hit the road again, to exhibit at Comic-Con International in San Diego, a five day show. (gulp!)

During the month of July I will be teaching the Second Year Workshop class at the California College of the Art's new MFA in Comics program. It will be a lot of fun to work with a new batch of comics students out here on the West coast. That's going to keep me very busy (five days a week!) through most of July, so things may be a little quiet around here this summer.

I'm also hard at work on the next two issues of Phase 7. I'm on track to have #019 (Weezer Fan Part Three) done in late summer/early fall and #020 looks like it will be done some time in July... Yes, you read correctly, I'm up to my old tricks again, and it looks like #020 will be released before #019 - but only by a few weeks! Don't worry - I'll keep track of the ensuing mess to make sure that everyone gets their comics.

I'm pretty excited about issue #020. It will include a rock opera version of Basewood which I have been working on in secret for about five years with my buddy Andy Hentz. I hope everyone is ready to rock this summer! It should be fun. You can read more about it over on the comics page.

And of course, I'll post more about that project and all the others too, just as soon as they are ready for public consumption. Until then, I hope everyone's summer gets off to a good start!
